Thehe day will begin at 5:00am when we leave the harbor. On the way to the fishing grounds, you can enjoy a continental breakfast. There will be plenty of time to take pictures, talk with the crew or relax and enjoy the scenery.

Heading out

Getting ready: Baiting the hooks When you arrive at the fishing grounds your crew will have everything set to begin fishing. A typical halibut weighs about 25 pounds, but fish four times that big are not uncommon. King salmon are becoming more abundant year around and are fun, beautiful, and one of the surest catches available. Silver salmon and salmon sharks are hot mid-to-late summer. It's recommended that you take one or two days halibut fishing and one day salmon fishing. Combination trips are not a good deal, on average, so we don't do them.
Getting ready: Baiting the hooks
E-mail us about a salmon shark trip as timing and preparation are critical. Captain Mark has landed thousands of sharks including the only sport-caught great white in Alaska. Our smallest big game reels bite back with up to thirty pounds of smooth drag pressure. Can you hang on?

Footage onboard Northern Lights
We've captured a few scenes on video from a typical day's outing (Approximately 2.2 MB, it may require a few minutes download time; please be patient).
